me and my brother headed out on sat morning about 6 am, with the intensions of getting a couple flatties around south straddie. but on out arival the wind was pertty bad so the descission was made to shoot up the coomera and chase a few beam for some fun.

using my new fluger trion 1-3 kg rod with an daiwa za2000 (which iv had a fair while) spooled with 8lb pe braid and 10lb vanish leader.
we flicked 2" peppered prawns around on 1/12 tt heads

landed 6 little bream from 22 - 27
dropped a fairly decient flattie around 40cm
and got smashed by my first jack at 43cm :) flicked the prawn at the back of a boat and as soon as the lure sank about 1m, line started peeling from my daiwa pretty quickly i slowed the spool down a bit and after about 5 mins of battling this fiesty jack managed to get him into the net.
what a beautiful fish they are i couldnt believe how hard he pulled and how great they look,he was almost white when he came to the net but then quickly changed to a lovely red.

we headed home about 9am so was a great little session.

look forward to getting out there again on the weekend weather permitting.

tight lines

Nice job. Good to see fish still coming out of the coomera after all that rain we had.

the first one is always the hardest to catch isnt it, not bad at 43cm, good work
