Heard from a very reliable source today the the water quality has affected some of the fish at the lake. Large Barra ,Bony Bream, Gar, have been effected .

Some of the areas of the lake are quite smelly, in fact it takes your breath away. One area the fish where on the surface swimming in circles. Also the dirt ramp had eels, boneys and dead gar floating on the surface.
Awoonga on the other hand seems to have {At this stage } escaped .
l think that the vast open areas along with the wind has helped

I've seen that happen years ago in a much smaller impoundment than Mondy, hoped i would never see it again. I never thought i would hear that the eels were in trouble again.

Thanks Trev,

I was up there Sunday for 1/2 a day and saw nothing dead. Water smelt OK...although it was getting clear with that nasty reddish tinge around the basin area. But we have had 2 warm, stillish days since then, maybe the time has come that we dred.

cheers Steve
