A Quick Question

Can freshwater mullet be used as bait in saltwater for crabs/sharks?

Or is there a different/unnatural taste about it or something.

Im asking because I've currently got heaps of 50cm+ ones in a lake near my house.

The mullet are still Sea mullet, but I was just interested if it tasted different due to living in freshwater.
