Ques Re Alps Tri Seats

All, i have a question regarding the alps tri seats (before i order 2 of them).

In the case where the reel has its own colar going around the underside of the rod (as most mid size overheads do), does thr tiangular shape of the alsp seat mean there are a couple of gaps either side of this colar or is this section of the seat round so as to neatly fits the reels colar as with traditional seats??

There is a gap, but it doesn't look bad to me.
The very bottom is radius ed, so it fits same as usual.
The gap is more at the 4 o'clock area
