muddies,squid and 4 tings

put some pots out for some muddies the other day checked them yesterday t find they had been checked:'( ,rebaited them and let them soak for 20 minutes and got 1 keeper,went over this mornin at 5 before the share farmers had a chance and got 7 out of 4 pots,had to pick my son up at 8 then went straight home and took my big boat out for a run over to the rous had the boat in the water around 9.15,i was hopein to get a feed of tings and squid,after bout 15 minutes we had 4 squid and no tings drifted around for an hour or so and got 4 tings and 10 squid all up,met neil (horse)on his way back through the rous on his way back in from outside said he didn't turn a reel out there,bad luck mate,we headed back in and ran into timddo at the ramp,he also got a few squid and tings,the bay must be full of squid at the moment as a workmate who normally gets f/a got 16 squid and 18 tings but he was there around 7,

Looks like its salt & pepper squid for entree and whiting for main and to finish it of mud crab sandwiches tomorrow .;D

Nice going Rosco some top muddies there and a nice feed of calamari.
You are not wrong about the squid mate they are everywhere.
We ended up with a good feed ourselves but the whiting were a bit scarce today.

yip. my count was a little better, got at the ramp aroudn 8:30 ish and headed to the rous. Caugth 10 squids, but one going 1 kg. about 30 tings and home i went as the wind was picking up. IT was really a test trip to see if the QL tabs were working.

I gotta learn how to drive on the trailer. Rosco makes it so easy.

One thing i learnt from this trip. Catching squid is a dirty hobby. I got squirted 4 times by the same squid.

That's a good feed of squid Rosco. If they were as big as the ones I got on Friday, you'll be eating squid for a while.

there where a couple big ones there but they wern't as big as i got the week before,but enough for 2 feeds,had a good feed for lunch today

Rosco you are worring about offshore. Mate a muddie would blow any reef fish in my book..nice

mate muddies are very tastie but so are reefies,is frustraiting when u can get muddies,tings, squid, and sandies all the time but hard to get a decent feed of reefies.... the biggest muddie went 7 inches and 1.6 kg,most around the kilo mark
