Myself and Jesse 148 caught up to have a sesh in the river. Mission was to get a few firsts on hard body lures. We decided to fish up around the gateway area around the top of the tide. Water clarity wasn't the best I've seen but we managed a few fish.(including a few lost ;D ) We fished sx 48s and River 2 seas D40 fs. Nothing better than working a few areas with HBs, pretty relaxing hey Jesse. Jesse lost a couple of what seemed good fish but came out of the morning with a few firsts like bream and flathead and a small cod. If only those undersized bream were legal we would have had a much improved morning;D and I don't know how many bream I pulled the hooks on:-X it was getting embarrassing:-[ . Still great fun with great company . Thanks for the morning Jesse

Mick.
PS. I see the Trevs are still up and about!

MickThe....Water still needs to clean but around the top of the tide it was at its clearest. I glanced over at your area you fish but there was a boat working the entrance so we gave it a miss.
LNB... Your not wrong. I don't think I'll ever grow up. We were having a laugh today at some of the juvenile bream we hooked coming off the shallows. Agressive little buggers.. Not to mention that monster summer whiting that climbed all over my lure ;D ;D

All in all a good day out eh chief. Pulled hooks are a pitty but at least ya got hits as well as a good variety there.

Yeh chief thanks again, it was a top morning on the water! Think i'll start using them HBs a bit more now, awesome stuff.... Just shows like i said this morning chief, a little extra confidence with a new technique gets you results... Haha yeh that whiting was a cracker, trying to take on a chubby neally its size!

Good stuff mate. Don't tell me you are losing your touch (pulling hooks). I fished the bay on Friday thinking the river might be a bit dirty. Another couple of weeks and the river should be good. How's Garret going?

Jesse....Thats all it is mate, having confidence in what your doing and knowing that it will work. Then you can add that technique to your fishing so when the plastics are a bit quiet throw a HB and mix it up and see what works on the day. I had a great morning mate, A lot of fun.
Callop... Hi Dave, I couldn't believe I got hit and dropped 5 bream before I landed my first. I think Jesse thought I was having a lend of him. I saw a fourby like yours at the ramp ,I wasn't totally sure tho but I kept an eye open for ya. The water is still not real flash but the water temp is still in the high 27s. I thought that rain may have dropped the water temp a bit more. How did you go in the bay?

Dave meant to say Garrett is doing OK, he's got good movement in the finger. He was only saying yesterday he's hanging for a fishing trip, unfortunately they had to open the wound a fair bit to get access to the tendon so I reckon he gives it time .I'd hate to see him get the dam thing infected. He's done the crime so he's doing the time. A few weeks and he'll be right
Ah yeh all fish were released this morning

Nice catch their chief, you and Jesse did well on the HB's. I am still finding it hard to throw the HB's when I got the plastics I know get results, but its like going from bait to plastics I just need to leave the SP's at home. Doing any beginner courses in HB's soon? LoL Top Effort guys!

Mossey247 I think Jesse would agree it's a lot to do with where your throwing them. Slow rolls and retrieves or stalling the lure for a second and then winding. I think a common mistake is to work them to fast. A lot of lures work but I always mention River 2 seas d40 f as a verstile lure that will work in the river and if you continue to cast them you will hook up. Bream flathead cod trev will all hit them. Try HC=17,BRBA=31 in colours. and give us a yell if you want to do a session. Hey whats the go with you young blokes Jesse 148 and Mossy 247, Just wondering if I should have a number? ;D
Just waiting for LNB to come back with something like Silver 181 ;D

Haha chief that's my old number from my racing days! Hey I found that lure I got from Malaysia at tackle warehouse, it's a cultiva mira shad. Was $15.95 so not to bad, I will try and get onto that guy from over there to get some sent over cheap...

I'll be sure to give the HB's a solid effort I think chief, I think your pretty spot on though its about controlling that retrieve without going bull at a gate, I really need to be a little less hectic with my retrieves. I'll keep you posted!
Cheers.
As for me my numbers aren't moto racing maybe I should change it to KLX450 hahahaha.

Leelee, its perfect for fishing estuaries. Stable and plenty of storage. It really feels a much bigger boat than 4 M. I love the little bugger and the 40 gives me sometimes 5 trips out of a 25 litre tank. Its rediculous ;D
