what area of the Coomera Garry, is it east of the M1 bridge?
Hope the House Boat company is well insured!

That would be east of the M1, Leighton, going past Sanctuary Cove I'd say.

yeh An I hope ll those pontoons are passed by council or they are illegal structures and can be held liable for damage to those boats :)

When they locate the owner of the 40 foot container that started the chain reaction you might find the insurance / liability chase starts with him, probably a bit like the car that runs up the tail of the one in front.

That footage was taken from Sanctuary Cove, looking across at the old section of Coomera Shores or Foxwell rd. Most of the boats and houseboats would have come from the main Coomera boatbuiilding area upstream where the Riviera factory is.

Interesting to see channel 7 news had entirely different footage taken from upstream near Hope Island Resort, but it was just as bad, if not worse. Id say the shipping container couldnt have got under the M1 bridge, so it must have come from just upstream of the boatbuilding precint. It was full of garden tools, so theres only a few properties big enough to need it, I reckon they will find the owner of it soon enough.

The insurance companies will have a hard time suing him tho, I reckon 'act of god' is a pretty good defense.

Marine authorities say they will have to resurvey the whole river. Might be an artifical reef or two to find now eh boys? A sunken houseboat will be great new home for a few jacks......

awesome post - thanks for sharing!

I cant believe those two twits on the pontoon which looked like it was barely tethered to the bank... with dozens of large boats and debris wizzing past them and of which could take them out. Some people have no common sense.
