Always worth a crack mate - I tend to have better luck on neap tides at night, (and after a bit of rain seems to help), around tide change is the go.

low tidal range between low and high tides(Opposite to spring tide) - i.e. minimal flow, and longer slack periods...jewies tend to come out and feed during these periods.

I agree - the neap tides (quarter and three quarter moon) are great but have also had a lot of luck on the full moon especially if there is broken cloud cover. Good luck.

there a lazy feeder and don`t like putting in much effort hence the slack water feed times and the longer the period of slack water the better your chances of a jewie finding your bait. . in saying that we had a good session on the jewies last sunday night which was six days before the full. the healthiest live baits with plenty of kick seem to work the best so try not to hit the spine when hooking them up. big mullet and taylor work well but also attract the attention of the noahs. Cheers Andrew
