Caught this fish off the foreshore a redcliffe was wondering if any one could id it it for me, a friendly yakka told me it was a sea toad but i tried to find it on the internet and it did not exsist???

Yeah, it's a green toadfish, or otherwise known as a sea toad.
Very poisonous so I hope you through him back?
That have a very strong set of chompers and have seen them bite through the shaft of a hook before, so keep the fingers away :0

Yeah thats a sea toad, not sure if thats the propper name. I caught one of these in Port Phillip bay a week ago, thought i was onto something pretty good until i got it up. Those teeth are nasty too.

Hard for me to tell without a better profile but it looks like it could be a Trigger.

nah, looks like a common old Green Toad to me, they can be buggers for snipping off your line right at the water level, they nip at the small ripple it makes when it goes into the water, and they will snip off a good sized hook with great ease

We were once fishing at Harvey bay and couldn't get away from them... Had a few bight right through the hooks too.

They put up a decent fight too, like Chamelion I was fishing up Harvey Bay at Xmas and every 2nd or 3rd cast would be pulling one of these critters in, all about between 35 & 40cm.

these guys puff -up like soccer balls and deflate when released :)
