Hey Guys

Does anyone know where I can chase some bigger land based fish off the headlands or rocks on the gold coast? Also what species to target?

Looking to go for something a little more entertaining than dart and whiting off the beach!

Cheers!

Hi Strike,

GC Seaway rock wall produces occassionally - Can be dangerous, so take care

Trevs, Bonito, LT's even the occasional mac(There's even some big kingies lurking around, but there pretty cagey and hard to entice)

Larger metals(65,85gm) due to the amount of water ripping through there....you can get away with lighter on tide changes, and poppers over the pipeline is worth a shot(Need to be there before dawn though). Livies also work, but very difficult to get them out LB.

Never really tried plastics there(LB), but I'm sure they'd work also.

Thanks guys.

Is it worth throwing a pilly out in the seaway as well as metal?

I live at broadbeach so burleigh isnt too far away either.

Cheers

Gday Strike, i go down the seaway quiet a bit to see whats going on. I have seen many guys using slugs (about 85g) with some weight in them producing good results. Havent seen many guys using pillies, im sure the current would take it, so plenty of lead may be needed.
As some of the other guys have said it can be dangerous on the rocks there and you will lose a couple slugs on snags, so bring a few spare.
Good Luck.
