Left port at around 2pm headed straight over to the beacons to get some macks, checked out about 6 beacons in the area, no bait showing, no mackeral around iether. drifted around the poles with unweighted pillies, now 5pm, headed up to harries, got there 2 boats in the area, wind picked up, swell picked up(1.2m)mate got a bit sick. Headed over behind muds eastern side, found i nice calm spot in 4m of water, thought we give it a go for some cod and sweeties. After about 1hr, near bottom of the run out tide, i got smashed 4 times in about 10m. 1st fish a cod, nearing 65cm, tangled up 4 of our 5 lines out with the boat swinging back and forth in the breeze and the tide not quite strong enough to hold us in pos. We gave up on the tangle after only 2 mins, thinking we need to get a line back in the water while we mucked around with the cod. Not a min later smashed again, my bro pulls up a nice spangled going on 44cm. And then my rod again, a smaller cod, and then a few mins later my rod again a small spangled about 35cm. Not bad end to a long fishless afternoon. Ill get some pics soon and post them up.

Nice work.

I tried the beacons at 11.00 am on my way home and couldn't find any bait at all. Not many boats there either which is always a sign that is quit.

Cheers
