on sunday i got 36 whiting, when the breeze died so did the whiting
on wed i got 30 whiting , far better quality, though still had to work for them, caught on the gulp worms
brought a squid jig, never used them before, just cast it out, left it till it went off and ended up with 7 squid
if the forecast doesnt change going out sunday with a mate, got to keep the neighbours and friends fed
cheers

Great feed of whiting Robsue. Were they caught on the white gulp worms or the brown and red round gulp worms? Seems it is much easier to dig for a tub of worms than into mangrove mud!
Cheers,

they were caught on the sandworm gulp, never tried white colour, have tried the red/green but personally i prefer the sand colour
doesnt matter if they are half worms in packet as they have to be cut anyway, couple weeks ago got 4 packs for $30 from - mart, but i have been using them for few years
Marty/Jo, son in law caught a 5-3kg snapper on a gulp worm, so dont be scared to use them on reef as well

nice work robsue, do you just rig them straight onto a no.4 longshank hook with a trace and sinker or put them on a jig or vary depending on spot fishing?

i just put on longshank hook with trace, running sinker
only difference with depth would be the sinker, i have been fishing 16ft-26 ft
16 ft being because of green zone, got to be 2 metres low tide and i allow the extra to be safe, legally you have to allow for the high tide in green zone
