Yabbies around Tweed

Can any one tell me some good spots to try for yabbies on the tweed? Got the wife and kids with me tomorrow and the quicker I can get onto some yabbies the better!

Hi Rapson

At South Tweed there are yabbies opposite the South Tweed Motor Inn, which is marked on Google Maps, there are some banks which can be accessed landbased. If you are taking your boat the banks at the Golf Club or further south down Chinderah Bay Drive opposite the marking on Google Maps for Chinderah Bay Antiques.

a very good spot is up behind the airport. start from the ivory hotel. head past kenndy dr boat ramp on your right and under the highway bridge near the navy cadets.on left. about 1 km past the bridge the river splits to the right takes you up to a smaller bridge go under it. stay to the right of the river for about 1 km and you will come to some sand bars next to the mangroves.good flathead up there at times as well.
