hi all,
I'm just reporting on a lure that worked perfectly on it's first go, battling with Spanish Mackerel.:D

It's called the Rapala x-rap it looks amazing in water and after 3 hits with a spanish mackerel it stays in tact really well.;D

I highly recommend it to any offshore fisherman who want to catch anything from tuna to mackerel. But unfortunately you have to get the quite dear ($25-$30), so look around for your cheapest price and you won't be let down.:o

P.s. Sorry i don't have a photo of the x-rap but i will be sure to try and keep you updated.;)

yours truly son

They are great lures but fish like Wahoo will punch holes through the plastic body and spoil their action by letting water in. The can troll at a good speed. I was getting over 12 knts on a 20

great lure but at that price they are laughing all the way to the bank a basic halco lazer pro will do the same job at half the price

Just to add to this thread, FWIW: the X-rap 8cm deep diving version is a brilliant flathead lure. I have found the 'Glass Ghost' colour to be particularly effective in sandy areas where small whiting are prevalent. Just a couple of weeks ago, I nailed 3 fish in one 1 hour session on this lure: 50, 69, and 76cm. Had the hooks pull on a monster as well, about 5 metres in front of me, which looked easily 80cm.

This lure looks great in the water and gets down in the water column nice and quick. Bangs along the sand beautifully. I reckon the treble hooks from the box could do with an upgrade though (which is what I've done, see pics below).

Cheers
Angus

I have always marveled how a Halco Crazy Deep in the spread would out fish all other lures [including more Lazer Pros] 4-1, then 2 weeks ago I ran 1 X-Rap20 in the mix for a bag of 1 x Wahoo / 1 x Mahi Mahi and dropped a YFT, the Crazy Deep was 0 and I had 1 x YFT on a 160 Lazer Pro.
Has me thinking:-/
