Went for a fish this morning at Donnybrook, on the water by roughly 0730 it was like central station. Every place i wanted to try had someone in it.::)

Around 830 my brother hooked the first flattie in the high 50s, from there it absolutely hammered with rain. We managed another 3 smaller specimens before going to our final destination.

I had never done any good there before but my brother said it will pay off. After another big down poor my cast went too far and ended up in the thick weed:(. After a quick jerk out it come straight into the waiting mouth of a 65cm Flattie8-). After a disappointing tussle and the boat blown onto the weed bank the fish was landed.

All in all a good day on the water even with the traffic and inconsiderate people in my spots:P.

nice work Neil. I'm heading back to Mission Point tomorrow with a few mates for an overnighter. My decky who is relatively new to fishing considers himself to be a flathead slayer ::) so sounds like he might be in the action. Were you drifting?

Well done on the PB mate. I lost a couple of beauties myself on Thursday. I started out at 4.30 and the action was much better and hardly any boats till about 7am.
Cheers

Yes mate, all i normally do is find a weed bank or a bank with structure and drift along it flicking the lures in front of your drift. But I'm sure if your bait fishing you could do similar.

Have fun over there at least the weather should be good.

Thanks, I saw your post and there is nothing worse than seeing your fish just to loose it at the net/ boat.

My next trip will either be earlier or later to try and avoid the hot sun and the traffic.
