Gday all.

Went out with a mate to Jumpinpin for an early fish sunday. Pumped some yabbies, and was fishing by 6:30am over some yabby banks. We landed a couple of nice flathead about 50cm, and a couple of nice surf bream, along with a dozen or so throw back whiting and flathead. All were caught on yabbies ( which were the biggest yabbies I have ever seen)! All fish were caught in 3 foot or less of water.

We tried drifting along the drop off on the island opposite straddie at the mouth. I have never caught anything here, yet the majority of boats were there. I thought it would be good for tailor but thats about it?

It was a very pleasant morning (until the rains came), and i was surprised at how clean the water was considering the rain.

Cheers Rob

Yeh ugly fish it was... If we had stayed on the sandbar instead of moving to the mouth i dare say we would have bagged a few more flatties.

I may be wrong, but i wasn't actually expecting to catch anything after all the rain. But i guess it flushes all the bait out to the mouth?

I guess the water wasn't teh colour i expected it to be after the rains so maybe the fresh leaves the system quicker with the tidal flow.
