G'day!

I eventually persuaded my visiting son, we ought to take the boat out. The tide was wrong to pump yabbies. I reckon he probably checked the tide times as he hates pumping yabbies.

So we raided the freezer and found the left overs in bait from a previous outing which were marked "burley" Old beef heart, yabbies, white pilchards, and WA pilchards. We also took a chicken thigh fillet from higher up in the freezer.

We launched about 11am and came home about 3.30pm. During that time, fishing on the Crab Island side of Ephraim Island, we caught 4 bream (23cm to 26cm), and a 50cm flathead.

The flathead was caught on a white pilchard which by her reaction time after it hit the water, I put right in her mouth.

I think the other thing which always excites me is that we also caught about 20 undersize fish. They were a mix of bream, tarwhine, flathead and whiting.

I am excited because it means the Broadwater is still working as a hatchery and nursery for fish for another year. :D
