Vintage Shakespeare 2531

Hi guys, I just acquired a Shakespeare 2531 fly reel that was first spooled in 1979! Just wondering if its a collectible or valuable or can I throw it on a daily basis without worrying about wreaking a classic. Its green with an internal drag and gold spool.
