Actually, no... I have a gaff on board, GF has had a bad experience or two with missed gaf shots that can turn things to custard, and I knew my net is deep and pretty strong.... Just how strong it needed to be I underestimated at the time::)

Oh well, added to the effect, seeing half the body of the fish hanging out over the top didn't it:o I hope you enjoyed it.

Awesome work on the camera and editing guys!

Top footage, only caught a few jew in S.Aust. but never that big. Top effort boys, got a few beer stories there.

I should have taken off my dorky hat (Adapt-A-Cap) but i guess when your trying to fight a brute the last thing on your mind is looking good for the camera. Dave we should go into production of fishing dvd's, i hate my job and would be more than happy to quit and go fishing every day.

ahh you fellas got it rite what a top job done from tackle line and camera let alone the fisherman, well done it was a pleasure to watch,keep having fun guys look forward to see your next catch, i would like to see what snotted you first up after seeing what you guys did land.

The votes are in from other fishos in the know - The fight of each of the 4 bustoffs were all the same - you start off thinking you are snagged on the bottom but as soon as you try lift, off she goes like a russian sub -Amberjack where we need 60 to 80lb breaking strain leader if we stood any chance, not 20 to 30lb.
