hey guys, went out yesterday to potter and got a good mixed bag of reef fish trout, trickys, grassys and so on. didnt get many pics on my camera but heres a few.
double hook up on cobes.

when the fish went off the bite we threw some popers on little potter, which was good as 6m off the reef and we were still in 15m+.

on the way home we stoped and through some slugs at a school of mac tuna and got some bait for the next trip.

so had a good day out with a good feed.

Good stuff. I love Innisfail. We usually holiday up there every September. Last few years been chasing sailfish and marlin wide of Gilbeys out to Sharon Shoal and between Gilbeys and Hall-Thompson. Do you guys chase billfish up there? Just curious to see if there have been many around.

did the long nose hit the popper over the reef or in the 15mtrs off the reef.

cameron, iv never chased bill fish but i would like to, havent heard of any being caught around here but on the vhf i heard one bloke say he got 11 but he was up cairns way.
the weather was great offshore daz, as we got closer to land the more it picked up.
ron, got him right on the edge in about 2m, we watched a group of 5 long noses swim 10m around the edge just to get the poper but only got the one, shame we never got them tuna in the morning with all the pickers we were runing out of bait, yeah be great for the next red trip.
