Is this site running a bit slow..?

Could be just me but its the only one I seem to be having trouble with..???

It just seems to take forever to load up at the moment..??

Any ideas..?

yeah mate I've noticed this too, been happening ever since those storms went through the other day, maybe they copped some damage, might have something to do with it? Every other site I look at fires up right away, but Ausfish seems to plod along for about 30 seconds before displaying.

Thought it was my computer, to slow to be enjoyable. Whats going on?

Probably to do with all the bloody ads.

Ads dont bother me usually but when they reload as often as these ones do it is annoying.
Like, if you are on the site with the speakers on u constantly hear the 'click' noise when one reloads.
Also, has anyone ever pressed backspace while typing a response and had the whole page go back to the previous and lose the message they were typing because of it?

Yeah everyone seems to be having problems with a SLOW Ausfish at the moment, maybe their servers copped some damage after the storms the other day? Its only been since then that its been slow for me.

Server is copping a hammering of late. An upgrade is being worked on but it may take a few weeks as we need to copy the forum over to a new location, ad mods, test, etc, etc.

Have done some slight code changes and optimisation, seems faster at the moment but a lot less load on the site at this time of day.

Let me know if you see any improvement or if it is still slow.

Certain improvement here even after considering the time of day.

its the slowest forum im on at present.

i knew a forum once that was super slow. he discovered that his server didnt like his political site....he changed providers and it became normal.

perhaps your provider is a rabid greenie from...... the redland council?;D

Certainly quicker now thank you,but can't we have 1 less mod ( tongue firmly in cheek ;) )

Found a few issues and fixed them. Page load time for me on Firefox is now about 2 seconds.

Anyone else able to post up load times and what browser they are using would be appreciated.

Thanks

ATM I am getting 3 seconds from click to readable, Mozilla, broadband and a fairly fast computer.

Probably equal to the fastest it has ever been.

Under 3 seconds, using Firefox. I'm in Adelaide, so I had expected it to be really slow...

I've noticed the slow load times for a few months now. Funnily though, out of the 3 connections I use regularly (dodo broadband, optus wireless and telstra wireless) only the telstra one has never had a problem.
The optus one sometimes if I disconnect/reconnect a few times it will load ausfish but rarely does on a first try (any other site will be quick as while ausfish is usually slow, if it does work at all). I was starting to wonder if it was something to do with my connections?...

Broadband speed 1.3 mbs, MAC OSX, test time 6am.

Safari browser;
to load a forum like estuary reports from pull down menu; avge load time 5-7 secs
to load a post or refresh a post; avg 9-11 secs

Firefox browser
to load a forum from pull down menu; avge load time 6-7 secs
to load a post or refresh a post; avg 9-13 secs

Firefox shows dl links in the bottom left corner. Time drags seem to be google ads/ggogle syndication and moon module?

I guess it must just be me, if everyone else is loading at 2-3 secs?
Im at home now, so I'll do another test on firefox at work later on.

cheers

Broadband speed 1.50 mb/s Firefox on Windows OS, time 12.20pm.

Avge speed to load a forum from the pulldown menu - 3secs
Avge speed to load a post page, 3 secs, but some took up to 7 secs.

So Im a lot faster at work pc.

Strange thing is home is a lot closer to the telstra exchange building than work is. Looks like Mac OS is a bit slower at my home, than windows is at work?
Sometimes it has java conflicts with certain sites. Ive turned flash off on firefox, but it is on for safari.

No complaints from me, I love the site whatever the speed.
