Went for a run out around Peel this morning.

Day off(where the hell is the rain) morning tea at Horseshoe with the wife.

Starting near the west mark, past the Hanlon and down the eastern side I was dodging crab pot floats. About a dozen of them all painted DARK GREEN.

Probably belong to a pro but the damn things were near invisible. Hope he doesnt leave them out overnite. You would never see the bloody things.

Headed back the other way and here were more of them. Between South West rocks and the spit green.

Are they being sold like this nowdays?

These things could be lethal.

probably meant to be invisable ...and legal, all at the same time. i bet the pros loose some crabs due to poachers.....

mowerman, I was thinking the same thing after missing a black float last week out on the bay

it shits me when people use dark floats, there should be a rule so that they should be a high vis colour. it is a safety issue!!!

its a shame that people are having to resort to having to hide there crab pots, so people don't steal them.

They belong to a local pro Rod. In summer he'll move them out deeper in what seems to be the middle of no where and they really do become hard to spot. Don't know what the regs are when it comes to colour. All the pros down this way are pretty friendly fellas.
