Thursday Island (TI)

Can anyone give us any information in relation to fishing up at Thursday Island?
I have a Uncle who has moved up there for 2 years with work, he just got himself a 5m fisher boat with a 100hp yammie, so I might have to pay him a visit;)

Its been a bit over 10 years since i was on TI but the fishing was awesome. Big spaniards on the troll and plenty of good reef fish. Some big sharks as well. Everyone owned a TI Commodore (14 ft tinny with a 40hp outboard)

It is great fishing at TI, reefs every where to the east, there is a sea mount close to TI, you should have seen the fish out there.. :o didnt want to play the game that day though.

when you get board or the wind is up just wander down to the jetty and fish off there, Saw one of the locals walking home one night with 20+ kg fish slapped over his shoulder and a hand line.
