Sometimes when we're chasing squid, they turn their nose up at a "squid jag", yet they will hammer a "soft bodied lure" with no success.

Is anybody making/using a soft bodied squid lure/jag??

Cheers8-)

Yo-Zuri make some soft bodied jigs.

What kind of SPs are the squid going for? Could you try threading a large curl-tail or other fluttery SP onto a squid spike like the Squid Witch?

Or you could also run a stinger treble on your SP as well, or one of those W hooks

I've had about 4 up to the boat on Pumpkinseed 4" paddletails.

That's a pity, they won't lend themselves to being threaded on a spike like, say, a creature-style plastic would.

You used to be able to buy prong hooks separately, which would mean you could rig one as a stinger. I don't know if you can buy them anymore, but perhaps you could cut the shaft off a cheap squid spike instead? Failing that, a treble stinger may work, as Sergio said.

There are some absolute awesome looking japanese squid jigs available. Have a look on some of the japanese online stores. I have found changing the colour of your jigs every now & again keeps them guessing. I have found that the squid catch on to whats going on after you have caught a few on the same jig.

Stopped at my local BCF and a Tackle store today.
looked everywhere, even asked for help, no sign of soft bodied squid lures.
(When i mean soft bodied, i mean like a small baitfish)

Anyone made their own??

How would you do it ??
it would be hard to get all the spikes set into a lure.

Thanks for the replies so far.
