I havn't fished up there... but i've been for a look....last trip north was for a look arround.
You have quite some choice from there......so it would be helpfull to know what sort of fishing you plan to do.
right in the bay you have acres of shallow water and estury stuff.and up into the creeks
before you get out of the leads and arround the corner you have rocky headland fishing.
then, you can go out onto the reef......for the full variety of reef & island fishing.
two things absolutely esential there.......a good chart and marine park zone maps.
oh.....while you are in the area.....have a look at tanum sands.......( for next trip)
cheers

80lb braid with 5 meters 80-100lb mono trace for reds. You will loose too many on 50lb. A couple of lighter outfits for the pansize fish. Troll with whatever you want. One rod with chrome slug for getting tuna for bait and one with a baitjig on it. 7/0+ hooks for the reds (we use ganged x 2 7766 7/0) and use big baits.

to be honest dont know really what to expect will only be hitting the reefs, first time up there will be goin with our club. but will only be reef fishing as then main priority. some trolling will be down as well have the trolling gear sorted for the reds would u just use the paternoster rig mainly?

paternoster are fine as are running sinker onto hooks. Just got to get the bait down and hold on the bottom. Running rigs are probably stronger. We have lost plenty of fish on paternosters not tied on heavier enough leader over the years.
