I am curios to see if anybody has any feedback on whether these rods would be suitable for a plastics snapper set up with a Diawa team advantage 4000 reel.
Had an Ecceler DA 4000 matched to the 5-9kg Tournament Pro that was recently pinched, had it a month i got for my birthday in june. I have now got my insurance money and am looking at other options so I thought I would do a bit more research.
Any feedback on any of these items would be appreciated, I did find that when stripping line to get my plastic down resulted in continual half hitches around the tip or the berkley but this could be operator related as I am new to this caper. This is the sort of stuff i am interested in finding out.

Never owned one, but I would be thinking that the live fibre 6-8 would be a bit heavy and too soft in the tip for plastics.
I leave the bail arm open after a cast to allow the plastic to sink and use my fingers to control the rate of line coming off the reel. Also lets me pick up takes on the drop. Sounds to me like you might have too much slack line there?

The live fibre blades and tales range in this size is great for this size reel ,i had one for my 4000 capricorn and it worked great for offshore plastics ....matt

In my opinion the rod is not the most critical part of a SP Snapper setup. It just has to be fairly light so its comfortable to hold for long periods and then strong enough to fish the line class you are using. A reasonably stiff tip helps impart action especially if you are deadsticking.
The Berkley would suit though most fish lighter class rods eg 4-7 kg. Nitro have some nice rods as does Egrell. There are also plenty suitable from Penn, Shimano and Daiwa. The Livefibre 6-8 is a good spin and bait rod but would be far from ideal for SP Snappering

Thanks all
I had wondered about the stiffness of the berkley and thought it might be a negative but in light of what some people have said its just the opposite. I did like the feel of it and it was as light as a feather so I may just give it another go.
Has any one else got an opinion on the Diawa Team Advantage reel, positive or otherwise, the only reason being that I have a few extra bucks and wanted to get that little bit extra quality(hopefully).

i have a blade n tailsheavy 6-8kilo extra heavy 6-10kilo and the xos 6-15kilo they are awsome rods and can take a real beating and knock around whilst still being light yet powerful.
