what are the desired qualities of a dedicated jigging rod?

and what sort of reel is considered to be normal for this type of fishing?

cheers

Mick

Mick,

can you specify how deep, what size jigs you are wanting to use as this will make a big difference. cheers Lee

Mick, i fish very similar to that when i jig and i have a daiwa saltist 30T-H matched to a gary howard G force 7 foot 15-24kg, this way i can lift the bigger jigs as well, it is the form of fishing that is very hard on your gear, buy the best reel you can afford. cheers Lee
