Seen some of these rod yesterday at local store and am interested in any info. They come with a lifetime gaurantee. Was in store for something else and did not have much time on my hands to check them out. Might get back there today. Bruce

I have a heavy tackle 7' / 24kg St. Croix rod which I really love. :D
It's a top quality fishing rod imho. Also a mate had a bream stick custom built from a St. Croix blank and it's an exceptional rod. 8-)
I think you won't be disappointed. Not many tackle stores range them. Mind if I ask where you saw them? ::)
Cheers,
Herby

I have a 8' 6" surf casting model and its super to work with. Nice & light but strong and you can really punch a cast hard. The overall feel, balance & action of the rod gives you a sense of confidence. I am very happy with mine & glad I bought it. I cast metals with it and sometimes ganged pillies. I match it with a cv-z 253 spolled with 30lb 8x braid.
At some point I'll probably get another once the required fishing application pops up that I need a new rod for.
By the way Bruce, does the supplier you saw the St Croixs at have a website?

I picked up one of there 2-5kg spin rods a couple of years ago in hong kong as i was looking for a rod to use while i was there. i had never heard of them at the time but this rod is now my favourite, its light has plenty of grunt and hasnt let me down once. i am looking forward to getting at least two more of there rods as i cannot fault mine
ps i only paid the equivalent of 50 bucks for it;D

Have bulit a 7' 10 -20 lb and a 7' 15 -30 lb and very impressed with these two rods ,and becomming my favorite rods at the Mo
Was mainly using Loomis blanks before they became unavailable to rod builders..
They(St Croix) have a tighter ,different action to the loomis and have plenty of power down low .You will not be dissappointed with St Croix
