Magic!! Just Magic!!

Went for a fish with a mate on Thursday night and I think I had the best nights fishing landbased ever!! Got there and scored some live prawns and within 10 minutes had my first Threadie. Measured 56cm. Twenty minutes later land a very cute Threadie was probably about 35cm. Twenty minutes after that I hooked onto big pappa Threadie and after a great fight had my third Threadie for the night measured just under 90cm. Went quiet for about an hour after that before I managed a nice little jewie was around 40cm. All fish caught on the incoming tide went real quiet on the high and after. My mate caught a good sized bream, A pike eel and two baby jew. There seemed to be a school of threadies about but only in the one spot Id say it was around some structure. Very Happy!!;D

P.s The big threadie only had one eye!! very weird.

That is a good outcome Land based. It really sounds like you enjoyed yourself. That threadfin is a decent fish. Do you catch and release or take a feed home?

You hit the nail on the head Andrew, those fish are there because of the prawns. Any prawns at the mouth have been copping it during the week from the trawlers. If your looking for those threadies it seems those quiet up river spots are the go at the moment. Hey Duncan how are the catties there ,any problem. I pulled at 76cm one yesterday. One of the species with the smaller mouths, gee he went ,I thought i had a small threadie at first.;D

wow duncan some beaut fish there. i havent fished the mighty bris since my last couple of thready month or 2 ago. aha those little threadys are a pretty little fish. mite have to have another go by the looks of it..would love to pick up a jew. on ya mate

Thanks guys! Fish gutz it is getting harder to get prawns, it took alot of casts to get any number and it got so cold and wet I had to change my clothes half way through. Hey chief- we only caught two catties that night, but they are around, have caught up to 8 in one session, but I don't mind when the catties are around there seem to be other fish there too.
