Any advice on travel rods please...

I looked at a nice 8ft shimano today for about $250 and a nitro 7ft for double that..not sure what reels would go well with these...dont want to spend more than $600 all up...

They fold up really small and look great, but anyone used these for any length of time? Are they are good? Any other/better ones...

It would be great to just have this in the travel bag etc..

cheers in advance...

Rayzor,

is this the question as your other post???
do you want this for returning to the UK?
As most of your questions have already been answered.

Jason.

Hi, this is in be addition to that, it would nice to have a travel rod to take on hols to the med etc for the beach or rocks etc as would not fancy taking anything too big on a plane. But I guess yes, it would be good for uk too...

The nitro looked lovelly....that would be nice to have in the car/rucksack for those just in case scenarios....I just wondered if anyone has used them. I've searched the forums and not found any real user experiences...just wondering...

cheers

Hi Rayzor,

I recently got a Nitro 007 Undertaker, which is a 5 piece, 5'10" 4-6kg baitcaster. Have hardly used it yet, and am yet to blood it. When put together you wouldn't know it is a multi piece rod. Really a beautiful bit of gear. I'm now saving for the same in the spin vesion and I think they have a 2 - 4kg spin multi piece as well.

Regards,
Dave.

I've just bought a shimano raider travel to leave in the car for the same just in case reason. I didn't see the point of having the nitro sitting there for a once in a while use. The rod seems ok for the money, its 6'6 so not quite the 7' that I would have liked but it will do. And only $140 so I can live with that amount sitting in the rear seat well. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but hoping to test it in the next couple of weeks.

Cheers
Glenn
