I am intersted in live bait options around the Gold Coast. I fish moslty inshore, estuaries and creeks and was after some possiblities. Also what are yakkas?

Yakkas: http://www.sea-ex.com/fishphotos/yellowtail.htm
Great live bait - Need to head outside to the baitgrounds to get them.
For estuary, can't go past poddy mullet...grab yourself a cast net(~$50), once you learn how to throw one, you should have no trouble picking up a heap(Try around boat ramps/pontoons etc)....you'll also need an aerator to keep them alive.

I agree with Mick, although Yakkas can sometimes be caught off the Sandpumping Jetty - I've caught them there using bait jigs.
Thanks Tom

The scottish prince is a wreck and not to far from the seaway and normally holds good amounts of yakkas and slimeys. If you can get out its a good close spot for the livies ro else as mentioned above, cast net around ramps and the like.
Good luck!
