Hi All
well after nearly 10 months of research my new boat is nearing completion. I have checked out boat shows, on line reviews, boat yards and manufacturers building procedures, etc,etc etc.. As well I have received invaluable information from Ausfish members (in particular Mindi).

I will state here that my boat is designed for me and probably would not suit all fishermen , and this was one of the most important lessons learned. That is, fully understand what you want and even more importantly what you need.

I was looking for a 5-5.5m center console, it had to fit in my garage (2.24m clearance after tiltadoor is retracted) I wanted a 90hp Suzuki and a boat that included transom door (too old to jump the sides anymore), rear folding lounge(adult kids and wife needed to be comfy) under floor kill tank, bait board with plumbed live bait tank, foldiing center console, helm seat with reversable back rest. Targa Top.

As I said I have been looking for a while and had settled on a particular brand of boat. I went to the dealer who had informed me they no longer were selling this particular brand of boat. They had in fact just purchased Stessl boats and were in the process of relaunching the brand in a "new" second generation" hull.

The salesman asked if I would like to have a look through the factory and view the new hull. Being a boat junkie after the previous 10 momnths I jumped at the chance.

Well to say I was impressed with the hull was a major understatement it is built like the proverbial brick outhouse and the owner of the company was only too happy to talk for hours on the new design and it salient features.

Needless to say I was taken by the solid structure of the "new" Stessl and after some deliberation over a couple of days and bargining I signed on the dotted line.

To date a bowrider and one runnabout has been produced and my boat will be the first center console. I have included pics and am only too happy to send any more information about my new purchase.

You will notice I have mentioned the brand of boat but not the dealer as then I cannot be accused of "cash for comment" statements. However once the boat is completed (hopefully in 2-3 weeks time) I will post more pics of the completed hull.

very nice, cant wait to see her take shape, always good when you can get in and see what goes into it, better than buying one of those mass manufactured never to see the factory and what they do or dont do. keep the phtos coming, cheers lee

Hi Again

attached are pics of the finished Stessl bowrider. The hull is identical to mine except I have ordered the center console and larger bow rails.
