BATTERY INFO for 75 mec 1986

Hi all im after some info on what size battery is needed for a older 75 hp merc.
lve been told the battery that ive been using 620 cc [RIP] is way to big and all that i need is a 420 cc.
ill be running nave lights and sounder .but dont want to get caught out.
Id be keen to here what some other opinions.

Some might know better but to me the 620cca seems perfect in comparison to the 420 although it would do it too it just wouldnt last as long or have that little bit in reserve that might save a trip or two in the future. I would also carry the 410 as a get me out of strife backup.

I agree with fnq here while the420 would do the job older outboards do not have large charging capacity some are only 6 amps the bigger the battery the longer before it goes flat
