I have a relatively new Coral Runner (out of warranty though) that when in a bit of rough stuff pours water into to the cabin through gaps where the hatch meets the windscreen that also opens. It is like a two way join where both members open in different directions. It is that bad that I would not take it overnight just in case it rained, i would be soaking lying in the bunks.

To me it is a very poor design from stacer and I was wondering if there are any other Stacer owners out there that have experienced this problem and come up with a solution.

The short term solution is to stuff as much foam and rubber in the gaps that I can, but this will look unsightly. The longer term solution is to permanent fix the hatch and then cut a smaller hatch closer to the front of the boat in the existing hatch therefore elimating the walkthrough feature. This is pretty major work though and I'm not that keen.

I think it is a poor design, i noticed on stacers web site you can get a hatch cover to fix the problem, or so they say.

Hi DSMA

I seem to recall a similar problem and thread on here a while ago.

From memory this seemed to be just one more of the "design features" of the breed.

Do a search on here and maybe you will find if there was a fix or if the best option was to look for a more waterproof boat next time?

Sorry to be cheeky but when playing with boats you do have to keep a sense of humour.......

Hi DSMA,

I understand that the current release (ie 2009) has been redesigned in this area. Don't know if it is worth taking a look at the dealership for any ideas for a fix.

If not I would look at going to a fabricator andgetting the existing hatch/screen modified because the walk through is a handy feature.

Cheers

I raised this problem with Stacer in 2007.

You can try the foam tape to try and seal it better. Have a chat to your local Stacer dealer about a remedy for your problem

The one thing good that I did find with the boat was it was a stable ride and great on fuel with the right motor setup.

All in the past matey. There's no point me going 'to the point of no return' anymore. What's done is done. The dramas with Telwater really did my head in. I'm not going to dig it all up again.

Cheers

Thanks guys for responses, i will have a chat to local dealer to see what ideas they have to fix, this is the only really frustrating point in boat, other than that i am really happy with it.
