There are a few at the Gold Coast, target them off the Sand Pumping Jetty with a 100LB trace 2M under a balloon. Bait usually used are livies which include Dart and small Trevally.
Thanks Tom

Kingies have been caught at the Curtain Artificial reef, other than that, Hutchies shoal north of Cape Moreton, 42 fathom reef offshore Moreton Is.
Pop-eye,
One of the tools here on this site, is the SEARCH function. If you were to use advanced search, then search the estuary and offshore reports - keyword - Kingfish or Kingies, I'm sure you'll have pages to read and research.

Have a go at these. You may need to grab a drink before sitting down.

Great rush though Ian, especially those big buggers.
