You can't go past live Squid on the Reefs,

You will get Squid along the rockwall there, or anywhere with a good suppy of weed. Fish at night with Squid jigs and you should get a few.

The best way to rig a live Squid is a 2 hook snelled rig, the top hook through the top of the Squid and then the other one further down the body.

Good luck and Thanks Tom

If you're going to use Placcies get yourself some Berkley Gulp 5" and 7" Jerk Baits in Camo and another favourite for many people is Nuclear Chicken.

Thanks Tom

slimies, float lined on a 9'0,
from m/bah you can often find the bait schooling towards old woman Is or find them at Murpys or on the banks and jig them

also as Tom said, squid work a treat on them, squid jigs at night under a light off the boat

open water in the bays or river estuary?
Cheers Simon

Hey Izzie

My suggestion is put down a bait jig and wat ever u catch (provided its legal 2)
drop it back down. If they are there they will b feeding on wat ever is down there.
Cheers Simon

Live yakkas and slimeys are awesome for them. Getting the livies easily this year so far has been the million dollar question with any regularity. Each major weather event changes things around. There is no consistency. I just fish them on Paternosters and a single 7/0-10/0 Octopus style hook.

There really is only one live bait of choice in fact there really is only one bait, SLIMIES,SLIMIES SLIMIES everything else is second best in varing degrees. I would drive 20nm out of my way to load up a live bait tank full of them!!

Hi Simon, open water for the slimeys, from M/ba you can find them around old woman Is and you will/can find them schooling on Murhpies and the BB but as mentioned, they have been hard work this year

Are herring worth using offshore as they are hard to keep alive?

When chasing livebait outside do you find them with the sounder or have certain spots
that you go too?

Really need to start using livebait just need to learn how to get it.

Thanx
