Seen as the Townsville reports have been very few and far between, I will post up a report.

Went fishing yesterday arvo from the Casino rock walls from 4pm - 6:30pm.

Sat around for at least an hour and a half with nothing touching my prawn and mud-herring baits.

Eventually the sun went over the horizon and for about 20 minutes the Trevally were on. The prawn never got touched but small mud-herring were getting smashed.

Ended up coming home with 5 trevally (plate size) and smiling again because its been a while since I have been able to catch something to bring hiome. One needs to keep in the good books with the missus

Cheers

Good work kev, good to see you finally got into something. It was funny, just last week, I walked out along the breakwall to check out what the water was doing to decide whether or not I should put the boat in and I run into this bloke with a bucket of livies, and a 4lb bream stick! The livies he had were big enough to bust him up. I asked what he was after and he said he was from melbourne visiting and wanted to catch a mighty barra......lol. I told him his gear just wouldn't cut it and to go to the nearest tackle store and get a 20lb outfit minimum.

Went for a fish up north on fridy nite and droppede 2 mighty fine barras. one would have easily been 70cm but got gillraked on both of them.

Well actually I caught some really small green back herring in the cast net from Aplins on Friday after work. I took them with me on Sat morning (dead) and fished the front of the rockpools and would you believe it, I caught my first legal Jack. It went 38cm. Came home with 2 trevally and a Jack and fished from 5:30am - 8:0am. No other fish were being caught but for some reason they loved the bite sized green back herring. I only had about 7 herring so my luck was in
