View Full Version : Spin rod for Barra/Snapper
Hi all, just after some ideas for a spin rod for barra/snapper etc. for soft plastics for example and maybe hard bodies and bait. i would most likely use it in Monduran for barra and sunshine coast reefs for snapper etc. I will also need a spin reel for this and would like suggestions for this as well, i will have a budget of about $450-550,i think this should give me a quality outfit to pull these fish out of the timber, thanks for any input.;D

The Egrell S10 is within you budget and was designed in Australia for chasing Barra and Snapper on soft plastics. It's a pretty awesome rod.

Hi mate,
I would definately recommend a Diawa Sol combo. If you were to shop around you could probably get it for the top end of your price range or just a tad higher. I have the 2-4kg rod weight and length is 7 ft. matched with the sol spin reel in 2000 size. Its the best rod i have and would be great for that sort of fishing. you might want to up the rod and reel sizes though. However i fishing very light so its perfect for me. Just my thoughts

Thanks to all that offered suggestions i will take this advise and see what i can afford, and hopefully have another outfit to try some day soon.8-)

Don't forget the Nitro Innovator range with the Viper or Distance Spin Mag Butt well suited for your purpose. Match it with a Stradic and it will do the job fine
