If you're on the east coast of qld, then yes, it's barra season!
Midday 1st February to midday 1st November.

It may be barra season, but with the onset of winter your going to find it hard work to pull a barra until at least september..

that's a myth, i continue to blow it away each year...you have to change where and how you fish, they are still hungry and still feed.

Very true Rhyce,
I caught my PB (93cms) 'Wild' Barra in late June.
A friend that lived in Karuma has caught many Barra over the magic meter mark in mid July .
Just change tactics,
Nick

I do believe they are harder to catch during the cooler months, but they are still there and they still need to eat as rhyce said.
Just look for deep holes where the water temp is more stable, also on the flats of an afternoon as the tide goes out, bringing the warm water down off the sand, and the bait with it. Big (and I mean BIG) live baits are the go, whiting is always a favourite
