G'day, has anyone recently dealt with the blokes at www.tacklenet.com.au (http://www.tacklenet.com.au)?? I have been looking at their website today and cannot find a contact number there to call them and have a yarn. They have some really good priced stuff there and I am hoping the prices are still current and they are still operating. Any advice on their service or alternative suggestions most welcome.

Thanks

Looks like Chris Ridden registered the domain

Bit of a search, try: 0403 643 470

Have you tried contacting via form on the website?

Most webstores do not list contact phone numbers, sort of defeats the purpose of having a web store with cheap prices. If everyone rang then they need more staff and the prices would have to go up to cover costs.

From their site
Tacklenet is under new managment as we are updating our products please bear with us over the following weeks to update online information and products.

This is one of the issues I have with dealing with the E-Market.....the ability to pick up the phone and call them to ask a question, or discuss an issue. And their ability to hide behind anonymity and avoid answering the 'tricky' questions. Not a whinge...just an observation.

Yeah, thanks everyone who posted replies. I have tried the 'Contact Us' method and sent an email, and have tried the mobile number and left a message for Chris. Still no replies - pity really as they have Shimano Tekota 800s listed at $239 each.......... bloody good price really!! Anyone know of the most competitive price on these elsewhere if tacklenet don't reply??

Or even any suggestions on other reels suitable for the task - level wind, either lever drag or not (don't care really), suitable for 50lb mono for a bit of trolling and bottom-bashing in north QLD. Needs to be simple to use for visitors and other relatives who will surely be along for the ride......:-/

Thanks

Spent an overnighter 80km off Airlie and tried out my Shimano TR200G. This little overhead pulled well above her weight and was fished with 50pound mono. Pulled up everything that didn't bite through the 80lb leader. Fished with a cheap Shimano roller tipped rod, worked like a charm and I am very pleased and impressed with this outfit, considering the budget that i worked with.

If you can't contact them, what do you do if something goes wrong. Does it mean that they will answer an email. I've had no success. Cheap prices that are mysteriously not available at the time. Lots of luck dealing with them, I think I'll stick to the sites that you can contact.

Funny how things work out. Went and had a look at one of the local tackle shops and ended up with two of the Daiwa Saltist 50 overheads matched with Ugly Stik Gold 15-24kg rods. They even spooled them up with 340 metres of 50lb mono on each for nothing. Got both combos for $365 each as the reels were old stock. So I convinced myself that they would make really good christmas presents for the wife and I at that price.............. now, where is that boat???

Heading off on my "working holiday" very very soon, so tight lines and safe boating to all until I return in 2010 to my new Formosa Tomahawk...... only about 250 sleeps to go....;D
