I am going fishing from Cleveland next week, early morning returning mid afternoon. I have never fished this area before. Does anyone have some suggested spots I can try for any of the bread and butter species. I have a 4.5m runabout.

Mate, if you head out to the end of cleveland point and poke around the 5m depth contour there are some nice little nooks and crannies that the fish like to hide in. ;)
Have a look at google earth and you will be able to get an idea on what to look for. Ormiston Point and Raby Bay canals might also be worth investigating.
Be warned though that if you stray outside the channel when leaving or returning to the ramp (william St.) that the water is quite shallow in places and loves to eat props.:'( I would stay away from the ramp at the end of the point also. Unless it has changed it is not very deep even at high tide and not clearly marked.
pm me if you'd like some of the places i have caught fish in the past.
Cheers
Shane
