Townsville and Magnetic Island

Planning a family trip north this year and we have been looking at a few days in Townsville and a few days on Magnetic Island. Probably just look at a hire tinnie on Maggy for my fix but like the idea of perhaps getting a guide for a day around Townsville.

The preferred target would be Barra so if any of you northern brothers can advise of a reputable guide I would be most appreciative.

Don't know anyone myself however just so happened to find similar thread from couple years ago. Only gives one name but a search on the net wouldn't go astray.

andrew mead seems to get good results around townsville. a mate went with andrew and got 8 or so really nice barra (in about 2hrs of hot bite) to about 1m lst year.

also ryan moody - ryan works our of hinchinbrook now though.
