Checked my Almanac which showed that last night and next Saturday night were the prime times to go to rock x at Raby Bay.

Being mostly land based this has been a favourite spot of mine and Rick (my recently dead labrador). Both Rick and I had marked the rock on many an occasion so fishing without him there was a little sad. :-[

Anyway opened up the tin of Cat Food burley (always used cat food so Rick would not want it - does not matter now I suppose):(

And just as the high slowly started to ooze back into the cold, dark depths - (imagine being pulled into that water by a giant octypus at night in winter - horrible) - I started tossing and retrieving my pilli on a three hook rig. No sooner does it hit the water then tap, tap, .............................tap.................. .................................................. ............bummer wind back in no tail.......must be Tailor.

Out again and I am on with a nice big grinner. ;D This is closely followed by a number of hits and misses for over 40 minutes - ended up with 20 nice Tailor and one big Grinner landed - kept five.

I have attached a photo of the five Tailor on Rick's Rock.........should be good there this Saturday night

Hey Geeb , looks like you had a good night , they are nice size tailor, the fish i got last night were not that size

sorry to hear about your dog :( dogs are fun to take fishing

Tonite and sataday are looking good , i reckon i mite go down to raby bay and throw some poppers, i have heard they are getting some good tailor from the end of cleveland point as well, out from the car park, if you use floating poppers there you dont get snagged.

Shane thanks for the comment - I really miss Rick - Best fish was 40cm the one with the really sad eyes at the front
