Was down at Palm Beach in April for a few weeks hols and during a walk along the beach, espied an (apparantly) dead sea toad well up on the high water line! :D

Never missing an opportunity to show my young grandson my vast store of knowledge on wet scaley things, I picked up this stiff and lifeless brute and proceeded to give him a lecture on it's teeth and how they could chomp through a three oh hook in one go................. :)

I mean this can only be done by opening it's rigor mortis mouth and pulling open its jaws with your index finger and then showing him the boney teeth work right?. :-/

Of course you know what is coming!!!!!!!! :'(

Whammo! The mongrel thing responded to my attentions by latching onto my finger tip and started work on severing the tip, nail et all!

Shrieking down the beach to get to the water whilst simultanelously flinging the brute all about me in an effort to dislodge it I could hear from Grandson, "Grandapa, don't hurt it!" Yeh, right! :(

I finally parted company with it (the toad) and sadly withdrew from the battle to give attention to me nail - cut right through - and the deep cut on the fleshy bit now gushing blood all over the place!!!!!!

Grandson was most impressed with this performance and suggested we go off looking for some more!

Not gunna happen!

There was one years back at the Shute Harbour boat ramp that you had to watch out for...

And if I remember correctly his name was Thomas and had a fetish for toes!

Didn't your poppa teach you don't shove your fingers where they do not belong??
He told me lots of places and some of them cannot be listed here. ::)

Same scenario but on a boat with a shark that was supposed to be dead, but I saw this half a brain put his hand in its mouth for the cameras - credible footage on youtube somewheres.... But I'm not putting you in the same boat PP, it might even be funny after the blood stops spurting!! LOL

2 things that live longer out of water than you would imagine, toad fish and sharks.

Mate had a good run in with a shark on a trawler once. Shark on the deck all night, he got up early the next morning and spotted it, decided to kick it off the deck. The damn thing had a go at him and nearly had a piece of leg.

That is both sad and funny PP - mainly funny ;D ;D ;D

I had a mate in Cairns who decided to put a dead snake in another Truckies' toolbox as a payback for other practical jokes previously rendered.

He saw a dead King Brown and pulled up....

Walked up to the snake, grabbed it by the back of the neck, only to find out it was only sleeping, not dead :o

He didn't get bitten, and the snake was last seen at an altitude of about 500m, and a velocity of about 200 km/h ;D

yep, those Toads can give you a good pinch huh? I have seen a similarly funny thing with a Numb Ray (that is an electric ray) this thing was caught and chucked on the sand and left to die, along comes a tourist looking guy and his girl, I guess trying to show off a bit, he went to pick it up, knocked him clean over on his bum! nearly wet my pants, his girl friend also thought it was quite humorous, but he failed to see the funny side of it!

The mental picture I have of this unfortunate incident is hillarious.

Thanks for sharing.
