I want to buy a 12' cast net with top pocket for catching prawns, can someone please tell what is the benefit of having a factory or handmake cast net? ::)

Factory nets tend to be made of an inferior type of netting, they have a lot of springback, so, while they will open when you throw them, they spring back to a smaller circumference before they hit the water,
Custom made nets are usually more limp and supple and stay spread
You get what you pay for, Factory=cheaper. Custom =dearer.

If you've got enough time go with one like Marties. Look's sweet and looks to cast extremely well. Good luck choosing though.
