G'day Nat Dog.
A few questions. Do you have a reliable 4X4? Are you after larger fish, or just after a feed? Do you have surf rods? Will you have kids with you?

Mate...
Take the wife and kids with you down Main beach.
Find a nice gutter with sand cliffs behind.
Set the wife up on a comfy chair with a good bottle of white, book, newspaper, crossword.
Point out the sand cliffs or shallow gutter to the kids.
Bait up and away you go.
Always good for a couple of hours with my lot.
We will be over there next weekend for 4 days. Looooooong weekend.
Always try Finders on dark for tailor.
Rod.

Nat Dog, you and the family will have a ball. I hope the weather is good when you head over there.
Now, on to the fishing. Mowerman has the right idea for a family day out. Depending on weather, a trip down Main Beach is always good. I have fished that whole beach, from the gorges/headland right down to the pin and have caught fish all along it. I have had some memorable sessions down near the pin, but it's a long drive. Majority of species were Tailor, Dart, Bream, Whiting, Flathead, Jew. Take plenty of fresh water, food and sunscreen. If you have a good tarp, 4 tent poles(with ropes) and some sand spikes, take them to set up a bit of shade for everyone to enjoy, especially the missus(keep her happy and you can fish longer;D )
If the wind is blowing hard from the south-east or east, do the same thing but on Home beach or Flinders Beach. Alternatively, on or around the jetties at Amity and Dunwich can be productive spots that let you get out of the wind a bit. Most people overlook Dunwich. I nailed my first Trevally on the jetty there as a kid when it was howling wind from the east.;D
If you want to get a bit more adventurous, you could try fishing from or next to the rocky headlands around point lookout. There are a few of these to choose from but be careful mate and don't end up becoming a statistic. Safety first when around the rocks. Use Google Earth before you go to get an idea and then check them out when you get there.
As always, ask what action has been happening while you're at the bait shop and also familiarize yourself with the new yellow and green zones around Stradbroke. Good luck mate.
Cheers,
Adam.
