G'day everyone

Amanda and i headed out with Bargy from Hervey Bay Fraser Island Guided Fishing on Saturday in search of some longtails,We headed up towards Rooney's and found heaps of tuna feeding on baitfish,We chucked poppers and plastics at them for a few hours and managed to land around 7-8 each.We then decided to go and troll at Moon Ledge to see if we could find any goldens or cod,We couldn't find any goldens but did manage a couple of nice gold spot cod.

Then yesterday Amanda and i checked out of Peppers Resort at 5:30 am and headed to a friends house for a morning session in his 4.55 poly.We dropped in at River Heads and when i say dropped in i mean "dropped in" (I reversed his boat off the trailer into the water and smashed the skeg on the ramp) http://www.fishntales.com/forum/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif "Sorry Nath" We then headed out to a few of Naths spots and managed a good variety of small stuff including Trevally,Queenfish,Dart,Pike,Longtom's,Cod,Coral Trout,Rainbow Runners,Squire,Mackerel,Flounder/Sole and Nath got his first Blackall on soft plastic. At one stage Amanda was hooked up to something pretty decent but it eventually popped the 10lb flurocarbon leader.Nath also had a big queenfish follow up his plastic and roll on it but it didn't engulf it.It was a awesome quick morning session.

cheers tim :D

Great pics and report. 7-8 each! Awesome mate. I can't wait to have a go at them again. What gear do you target the Tuna on and are those the Cotton Cordell poppers?

I was using my egrell S10H with a tierra 4000 and Amanda was using one of Bargy's rods,I cant remember what it was.The popper i was using all day was a silver cotton cordell pencil popper,Amanda was using soft plastics and another brand of popper which was also working well. There was that many longtails around we could have probably landed 20 each but our arms and backs were getting so sore.We are still hurting now after landing only 7-8 each.

cheers tim :)
