Saltwater creek yesterday afternoon was chasing a few mullet for bait but they were too fast. Had to chase them and cast at them as they were going past.
Managed 4 small mullet from sandflats down near the mouth.
Headed back up he creek a little past the boat ramp (mud slide is more correct) and anchored up. Out went the livies the biggest about 150mm got nailed almost straight away for no result other than a breif bit ox excitement than quite a lot more dissapointment. The other livies got eaten off in much less spectacular fashion but for the same end result.
So it was either throwing lures or half pilchards, was feeling lazy so the pilchard won.
They were getting smashed and every 3-4 casts would hook up, at least half of all hook ups ended with the line in the mangroves or having the hook spat back at me at or near the boat.
Caught 1 grunter (small) and 4 jacks smallest of 30cm and the biggest of 42cm, there were some bigger ones there that wouldn't stop.
All I can seem to catch lately is Jacks.....
Till Next time, hopefully I will catch something else.
Cheers Eamon
