Have fished my new secret little honey hole a few times lately with minimal success with the surface lures. But i think i have cracked the code. Silent surface lures at night. Used the jiggly cicadas with worm hooks for immediate success , for hits that is. Bass were crunching it often more than once on the same retrieve but no hookups. All rattling or too noisy a retrieve was ignored entirely.

Went back tonight again under the cover of darkness with a modified jiggly, Line going straight down through the lure to a trebble behind a small bead. BINGO;D , every hit a hookup. Bit hard getting the little jiggly to land in a clear section of water between lillys but once in there the strikes were explosive. Landed 2 one about 45 and the other a touch over 40. Got smoked once also by a horse that the 4lb had no chance of stopping. Ben
