Up here there is too much fishing to do with just one sort of boat
1 for the reef and the wides and 1 for the estuaries and inshore mackerel
I finally got the boss to agree that we need a tender for the longboat
so we had a set criterea that it had to meet
1 small enough for 2 guys to lift
2 carry a big enough motor to push the big boat if needed as an auxillary
3 stable for casting
4 safe enough for an island run on a good day

well I didn't have to look far because I saw the rig I wanted down the road
when I turned around the block to come back some rat had bought it
I went in and talked to the seller who had just made the boat
he said he could have another ready in 3-4 days and true to his word
he did a real good deal and I picked it up on the weekend
found a motor in the paper so the new rig set me back 3200 ready to go
yes I did buy it untested but when I saw the shape the build quality and the price it was to good to pass up

Do you name a tender and if the name of the big boat is LongPlay what is a good name for the little boat? I like the name Chris Ryan suggested for Russ
..Short Sesh
I am open for suggestions

Thanks
SL

I'm with you Scotty....5yrs ago i had 2 boats, an offshore boat and a estuary/dam boat. The wife convinced me to sell both and get an "all rounder", and silly me did.

After 5yrs of flogging the "all rounder" to try and do the impossible, and plenty of whinging , the wife decided to let me do the offshore boat thing again and hang onto the "all rounder" for creeks, dams and close inshore work.

Now with both boats i can get back to the "best of both worlds" fishing;D.

Must say i like the shape of your new boat...it should perform well.

Is it one of Nashies hulls??

Did the same thing about 3 mths ago.
My thoughts was do I upgrade my 18fter to 23 to get out more maybe an extra 4 times a year. or spend $3-8000 on a small creek dam boat and now go an extra 26+ trips a year.
the 2 boats seem to be a much better option and I only head out on really good days now so the 18fter will do.

Have to agree even here in SA, two boats are better than one, but damn is it expensive!

if the big Boat is longplay, how can there be any other name for the small one other than "shortplay"?
